A community college service district was established by the voters of Klamath County in 1996. After several years of contracting with Rogue Community College, Oregon Institute of Technology, and Portland Community College to hold classes in rented facilities, a permanent campus was opened in 2000,〔( "About Klamath Community College" ), from the school website〕 situated on a land on the east side of Klamath Falls.〔(【引用サイトリンク】title=Klamath Community College )〕 The school received a full accreditation from the Northwest Commission on Colleges and Universities in September 2004,〔(NWCCU Directory of Institutions )〕 which was renewed 5 years later after a 2009 evaluation visit by accrediting team representing the NWCCU.
